GRADSCALE was built by Kavya Kumar, a software engineer and product builder who architected and built the entire platform from scratch — the daily drill engine, PYQ access, authentication, payments, and analytics. Talking to CAT, IPMAT and XAT aspirants, one pattern kept repeating — students didn't fail because they lacked access to material or explanations. They fell off because preparation had no structure to hold them accountable, day after day.
Coaching gives you content. PDFs and YouTube give you more content. What none of it gives you is a forcing function — a reason to open your laptop on a Tuesday evening when you're tired and the exam still feels six months away.

Kavya started out as a software engineer, building backend systems at Blackhawk Network, before moving into EdTech product work. Watching aspirants struggle with the same problem over and over — plenty of material, no system to actually hold them accountable to it — is what led to GRADSCALE.
